I dunno I've seen a bunch of debate about this quote. the way he addressed the reporter was fairly condescending. unlike obama's quote, where he is addressing as a speech, making the concept (of the thing not being a thing) seem ridiculous, here Trudeau is making the reporter seem ridiculous for asking the question...

Instead of jumping all over the usage of this gif, can we at least acknowledge that it is humorously relevant to the situation addressed? Sure, that comment may have its issues, but we should not be introducing politics into this thread when it started as a lighthearted comment on the state of palaeontological media. I say this as a Canadian, by the way.

I was simply acknowledging why I was not getting behind the new meme in question, even though superficially it would seem as though I not only would, but should. It makes me uncomfortable. You could, in fact, acknowledge why it would make someone feel uncomfortable, without being overly defensive about it; showcasing empathy, as it were. Furthermore, the lighthearted phrasing of my original comment lent the context that I am, in fact, acknowledging that this is a silly thing.

That quote is part of an exchange more than three minutes long, by the way.

Are you implying that I did not do my research? That I did not delve fully into what was said in this situation? Because I did.
