I haven't seen anything around for this series so... Anyone else love Fossil Fighters? For people that don't know, fossil fighters is basically kind of like Pokemon, but you fight with dinosaurs and other extinct creatures of the past, and it's actually very fun! You dig up fossil parts of a vivosaur (basically what any extinct dinosaur or creature is called when it is revived with elemental powers to fight) and revive them to battle against other people! Plus, there is a good variety of vivosaurs to choose from, and the storylines are actually interesting. Granted of course, the vivosaurs aren't exactly accurate to their real-life counterparts a lot, but that can be explained as them being revived with powers of different elemental types and other junk! At least any dinosaurs in the games that have feathers in-real life have feathers on them! Most of the time... But yeah, fossil fighters! Three games of cool dinosaur fighting, and fun for the whole family! Anyone else love the games?

I like the Fossil Fighters series. It's fun for hours at a time, even if it's really cheesy. The combat system is surprisingly complex for a kids' game, and that's my favorite part (Well, alongside the vivosaurs, of course).
Personally, though, I've always felt like the series was a bit of a Pokémon ripoff. There are even some vivosaurs with exact Pokémon counterparts, like Hatzegopteryx to Archeops, Maiasaura to Chansey, and Nigersaurus to Regigigas. Oh well, I digress.

Fossil Fighters was once my lifeblood. While I admit that the original and Champions were very Pokémon-like, Frontier is... well, I don't actually know what the heck is going on with Frontier. It was an experience (that completely and totally nerfed a ton of my favorite vivosaurs, too. R.I.P., Dimetro and Coatlus).

I'm not sure about Frontier. Is it true they removed a lot of vivosaurs?

Oh, yes, they did. All of the marine reptiles and mammals were removed, and quite a few real dinosaurs were removed too. Only a handful of pterosaurs and Dimetro remain in the "not a dinosaur" category. Off the top of my head, they removed Guan, Compso, Daspleto, Sucho, Onyx, and all of the Super Revival vivosaurs. There are way more that they removed, but for the life of me, I wouldn't be able to remember and would prefer staying away from the wiki.

Ugh. I'll admit, I was once looking forward to that game, but looking at some of their choices...no.

theTorterraYep, I agree! The series may be a bit cheesy at times, but it's rather complex and that's a thing I like. I suppose I can see where you're coming from with it being sort-of a pokemon rip-off, but eh, to each their own! lythronaxYeah, Frontier is rather weird compared to the rest of the games! o.o I personally like it though, but eh, to each their own. And yeah, at least they made some vivosaurs look cool! Even if they nerfed a lot of the good vivosaurs. x X

Don't get me wrong, I love Fossil FIghters and Champions. I don't even care that much about the Pokémon-esque stuff, it's just a little thing I noticed. I need to go back to those games sometime...

Yeah, I'll agree with you there. I still think Champions was the best game of the three.

Champions was for sure the best. I'll give it credit: It sort of did a Mega Evolution-esque thing BEFORE Pokémon did!
