Hello! I am a graphic school student and our year project is to animate a story. Any form of animation is fine. I decided to make a 2D animation about a dino story. Im a huge dino fan butsadly I dont have much knowledge in this field. Would anyone mind to help me with the dinos when I have troubles? Ive made tributes to nature before, if you like you can check them out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYm7tJmbPHM and www.youtube.com/watch?v=omhIT1cbrLc. Those were done in After Effects, but this time Im planning to do a frame by frame animation. Im not a skilld dino artist but Ill do my researches and use a lot of references. PS: Im neutral on the feathers/no feathers topic, I like my dinos with and without feathers. Greetings, Dinosaurus.

Well if you want them accurate, you have to do your feather research. Manors prioritises on should have feathers. Pennaraptora on has pennaceous (barbed, what we typically think of as) feathers. Coelurosauria mostly should be feathered; varies; more likely than not are feathered in unknowns. Other theropods it's judgement: Abelisaurs aren't feathered, but any other group could have them (and many probably did.) Basal sauropodomorphs maybe; basal Ornithischians probably; Neornithischians maybe, with some as def yeses. Def nos: Neosauropods and Hadrosaurs.

I'd be willing to help out if you have any questions. I'd probably advise that you start off by deciding what kinds of Dinosaurs you want to include in your animation. After that, you can start to learn a bit more about each of them - not just "did they have feathers or not" but where they lived, how they walked, what they ate, and all that other stuff. If there's anything you're not sure on, you can stick it in this thread and I'll try to respond. I'm sure a whole lot of other people on the forum would also like to help, too!
