Yay for me. Godzilla movies usually ran after the Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid, so it's kind of a nostalgia thing for me.

Despite being a mutated gojirasaurus who feeds on radiation and ass kicking, I never saw him as a dinosaur. This is probably shy I love kaiju movies but the good dinosaur rustles my jimmies

Also, Godzilla as a concept is definitely one of the most emotionally striking monster stories ever put to film. Despite it consisting of someone in a rubber suit walking around a cardboard city most of the time, the original actually hits pretty hard if you take to mind that this is a country that only a decade previously had been subjected to what can only be defined as pure horror, and many of the population from around the Nagasaki and Hiroshima areas were still suffering from radiation sickness. You kinda forget the whole rubber suit bit after a while.

I don't mind Godzilla myself.
Zilla 1998 was the second movie I watched at a theatre. I think there was a week dedicated to previous movies in the franchise before it was released that allowed me to catch up. At 15 years of age I enjoyed it well enough. Nowadays I can't say I remember much to evaluate it with current eyes.

Zilla 98 is Jurassic park in the rain. Not as bad as people make it out to be but not a good kaiju flick

Yay for me! While there's some yay and nay things when it concerns Godzilla, I still adore the King of Kaiju.
