Geese...I've got mixed emotions on them.
I've been told since I was young to avoid them at all costs, but whenever I've gotten near them, they were just chill and didn't do much.
Personally, my favorite goose is either the Brant or the Nene. In terms of anseriformes, I like screamers, wood ducks, and surf scoters, as well.

If you guys are considering getting a pet bird and have a few bucks to spend, might I suggest a small donation to the World of Birds? www.worldofbirds.org.za/It's a wildlife sanctuary here in South Africa that runs entirely on donations, they do a lot of wildlife rehab, education about local birds (Black Eagles, for example, have a bad reputation with farmers because they sometimes go after lambs - they're often killed on sight) and ALL the parrots they have are former pets. We visited recently and it was rather horrifying to see how many people were forced to rehome or just gave up on these beautiful, intelligent animals. I was particularly struck by a huge, pink-crested cockatoo that just stared quietly at me and my SO as we were looking at two smaller birds who were going nuts to get attention. I was giving the little birds sticks to play with through the netting, and I stuck one in for the big bird, as well. Instead of breaking it up in her beak, the big parrot tilted her head and scratched her cheek on it. I stayed there for about a quarter of an hour, just gently scratching this wonderful sweet bird with a bit of twig and wondering what her story might have been.

Personally, my favorite goose is either the Brant or the Nene. Nene geese are great geese because they aren't like regular geese at all. They just mind their own business while picking around volcanic lava rock for fruits. They aren't aggressive at all! Those birds are must-sees if you ever visit Hawai'i.

Shout-out to the dusky seaside sparrow for having one unique extinction story:

I wonder what they did with Orange Band's body. The island he lived on is abandoned and there apparently are at least some preserved specimens left there...

While it is true that the island, Discovery Island (Bay Lake), is abandoned and there are preserved specimens there Orange Band is not one of them. His body is held at, from my knowledge, the Natural History Museum in Florida. ( Source)

What do you guys think of reintroducing birds to areas they once lived in? Examples I can think of are the Middle East for ostriches and Kangaroo Island for emus.

The answer is many, many computer simulations. Many of them.
