OK so does anyone else really like birds? They're so wonderful, and unique, and diverse, and evolutionarily interesting, and cute, and...I digress.
As much as it pains me to do so this will be discussing birds from a fairly conservative standpoint: that is, Avialae. I'm practically a bird communist, myself, but I figure that this is fair. Averaptora can be included if you want.
I guess I should start out by saying that my favorite kind of bird is the burrowing owl, Athene cunicularia. It's fluffy and cute, but it also looks really cool. I love the thing dearly. Why no I've never heard of Guardians of Ga'Hoole what are you talking about? LOL
Also anyone else here bird? It's so relaxing...
Anywho...yeah. Birbs. What are they? We just don't know.

Birds are amazing. I really love parrots in particular, and have been planning to get a cockatiel as a pet once I have a suitable apartment and the money to take proper care of one.

I too may adopt a bird someday, but I'm just not sure at this point. Oh well. I'm hoping to work with birds either through evolutionary biology, palaeontology, or ornithology someday, so it all works out. Cockatiels are adorable, though, and I love them. Personally, I'd love a conure or group of finches.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a Jenday Conure. I'm eventually going to get to the point where I can care for one. They're so playful and affectionate! They also aren't terrible in terms of maintenance, though I'm nowhere near the point where I can care for one yet...

Birds are awesome.
One of my life goals is buy a reasonably-sized plot of land, and acquire at least two Palaeognaths. I also want at least one Psittaciform and a Columbid (good pidge).

I love birds so much! They're such beautiful creatures, plus, most of them can fly and I am ALL ABOUT things that can fly. And they're just... really cool.
I'll be back later with more bird discussion, mark my words.

Barring non-avialan definitions of a bird, I'd love some ratites.

I would love an owl of some sort but they're really tough to care fore and a bad idea and also illegal.
Ratites would be so cool though!

Oh man, I love birds! Currently, I own a pair of dutch-blue mutation peach-faced lovebirds. I don't have any pictures on hand, but they look like this: They are small, cute balls of eternal hate. Lovebirds and other psittaciformes (especially peach-faced lovebirds, due to their aggression) are not something I recommend to first-time bird-keepers. They are noisy, messy, and mischievous creatures, and they will chew everything to shreds if given the chance. I really want to get into fancy pigeon breeding, though. It's almost like dog breeding, except the birds look so much wackier than any dog breed out there. In particular, I like Polish Owls the most. Of the birds that are probably illegal to keep where I live, my favorite is probably the bearded vulture. No modern bird can live up the the complete metal standards set by bearded vultures.
